Another unique, crowning point for our 𝑡𝑒𝑓𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑛 is how the four 𝑏𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑖𝑚or the 𝑠ℎ𝑒𝑙 𝑟𝑜𝑠ℎ are properly separated, or "𝑝'𝑟𝑢𝑑𝑜𝑡ℎ" (פרודות) according to two opinions:
Our standard type, kosher by all relevant orthodox authorities, has fully separated 𝑏𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑖𝑚, fulfilling the principle of "נראין לכל" - "visible to all".
In our 𝑚𝑒ℎ𝑢𝑑𝑎𝑟 type, this separation is such that one can see light from one side to the other. Both types include the detail of חוט חיצוני -- the external sinew that accentuates the divisions between the 𝑏𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑖𝑚. In the 𝑚𝑒ℎ𝑢𝑑𝑎𝑟-type, there is a sewn seamline in between. These tefillin also come with shiny silver plastic cases.
